Pick or drop a scan; its pages appear as thumbnails.
Start with Normal; if pages are missed, switch to Loose and run again.
Blank pages turn red — tap the corner button to restore or add one.
Export when you are happy; only the unmarked pages are kept.
Three routes cover most cases: a duplex scanner fed single-sided sheets records the backside as a blank page, a trailing page break in Word leaves an empty sheet, and merged files bring their own blank covers. They are easy to spot in the grid and can be removed without going back to the original files.
Each page is rendered small and read as greyscale; three signals must agree before a page is called blank: almost no dark pixels, almost no variation between light and dark, and no text layer. Checking whiteness alone would miss the grey-haze blanks that greyscale scans produce, and would wrongly drop pages that only carry a page number — which then throws the whole document's numbering off.
Running heads, the black binding edge a scanner picks up, and a stamp across the blank sheet all count as content. Missed beats wrongly deleted: a missed blank page is one tap away, while a wrongly deleted page is often noticed only when the document is due.
A little, but not the way a compressor would manage. Blank pages themselves weigh almost nothing — the bulk of the file is fonts and images shared across pages. Shrinking a scan properly means recompressing it, which is a different tool.
Yes. Numbers printed on the page are part of the page content, so removing earlier pages does not renumber what later pages say. If the document needs continuous numbering, run the Watermark & Page Numbers tool afterwards.
Switch to Loose first. If it still finds nothing, the page probably carries a header, a page number or a black scan edge, so it counts as content — just mark it by hand in the grid.
No. Detection only marks pages red; you review every one of them before exporting and can undo at any point.
The source file is never modified — the export is a new file. Upload the original again to start over.
No. Remove the open password with Unlock PDF first.
Yes. A black edge raises the dark-pixel ratio enough to look like content. Trim it with Organize Pages first, then run the detection — accuracy improves noticeably.
No upload limit, only local memory. A few hundred pages are best handled on a desktop; mobile browsers tend to run out of memory.
Yes. Pages are copied across as objects rather than re-rendered, so text layers and images survive intact.
